Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec

Between March 3 and 5, Lasso™ will be present at Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec, one of the leading events dedicated to energy, environment, and sustainable technologies in Eastern Europe. The brand will showcase its product portfolio of semi-underground and underground containers for selective waste colection.

In an increasingly demanding European context in terms of waste management policies and selective collection, Romania currently stands out as a market undergoing growth and transformation in the waste management sector, with a strong focus on infrastructure modernization and the expansion of separate waste collection.

Within this framework, Lasso™ will participate in this specialized trade fair, presenting its containerization solutions for the selective collection of municipal waste, developed to meet the current needs of municipalities, multi-municipal systems, and private operators.

Throughout the event, the company will showcase its entire product range, highlighting robust, functional solutions adaptable to different urban contexts. Among the featured products will be underground waste containers, including the hydraulic underground container system, a distinctive solution that combines operational efficiency, enhancement of public space, and sustainability.

With its participation in Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec, Lasso™ reinforces its commitment to innovation and to the development of solutions aligned with the latest environmental and regulatory requirements.

The company invites all industry professionals to visit its booth and discover firsthand the underground container solutions that are transforming urban waste management.

Lasso™ has completed the installation of new semi-underground SEMI-PE containers in the municipality of Mafra, in Portugal, reinforcing the disposal capacity and efficiency of the urban waste collection system in various areas of the municipality.

In total, 64 semi-underground polyethylene Lasso™ containers were installed, distributed across 16 recycling points located in various parts of the municipality, covering the categories of mixed waste, packaging, paper, and glass. Capacities vary between 5 m³ for mixed waste, packaging, and paper, and 3 m³ for glass, ensuring an adequate response to local needs. Some locations also received containers for batteries with a minimum capacity of 8 liters, encouraging the correct disposal of this specific waste.

The equipment features recycled plastic coating (Wood Imitation), a standard lid, and a conventional and reinforced Masterbag extraction system, ensuring durability, safety, and ease of operation. Some units have been installed in the city center of Mafra, but also in parishes such as Ericeira, Malveira, and Venda do Pinheiro, among others.

Caring for the environment in this territory takes on special significance in a municipality like Mafra, known for its historical and natural heritage. The imposing Mafra Convent, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is one of the country’s greatest cultural symbols and attracts visitors from all over the world, and the municipality is also marked by its strong connection to the sea, with beaches of high environmental quality and international recognition. Therefore, caring for a heritage that belongs to everyone is essential.

For Lasso, this installation represents another step in supporting municipalities in the transition to more efficient and sustainable collection systems. “The installation of these Lasso™ semi-underground containers in Mafra demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to modern and environmentally responsible solutions. We are proud to contribute to improving waste management in a municipality with such significant heritage and environmental value. These systems allow for greater capacity, better urban integration, and more comfort for users,” says Sofia Sampaio, commercial director of Lasso.

Lasso Semi BT em Herault

Contenur, the exclusive distributor of Lasso for the French market, has installed around 40 Lasso SEMI BT semi-underground containers in the department of Hérault, in southern France, as part of a project promoted by Syndicat Centre Hérault.

These are semi-underground containers with a “Wood Imitation” cladding, concrete pit, and Kinshofer lifting system with a metal inner container and double door. The modular polyethylene lid includes a flap, and the containers for residual waste are equipped with a double drum lid and pre-installed access control system.

Thanks to their robustness and high construction quality, this model has demonstrated excellent performance, perfectly adapting to the region’s requirements, both from an aesthetic and functional perspective.

Hérault, located in the Occitanie region, is known for its diverse landscapes, combining Mediterranean coastline, modern urban areas, and historic villages. It is an area committed to environmental sustainability, where efficient waste management is an increasingly important priority.

“The installation of SEMI BT containers in Hérault represents an important step in strengthening selective waste collection in urban and semi-urban areas in France. This project, developed by our partner Contenur, reflects not only the confidence in the quality of Lasso’s solution but also the commitment of Syndicat Centre Hérault to more efficient, modern, and environmentally responsible waste management,” says Sofia Sampaio, Lasso’s commercial director for the international market.

With this project, Lasso strengthens its presence in France and reaffirms its role in innovation and the quality of urban waste management solutions.

7.º ENLU

Lasso, the brand for underground and semi-underground containers for urban waste collection owned by Sopsa, a leading company in the sector, will be present as a Gold Sponsor at the 7th ENLU – National Urban Cleaning Meeting, which will be held this year in Porto, between the 7th and 9th of July, at the emblematic venue of Alfândega do Porto.

Lasso’s presence at this important event has a special meaning: it is in its home region that the company will once again showcase to the sector the most advanced solutions for containerization and intelligent waste management, with emphasis on its underground and semi-underground containers and the intelligent systems that optimize operations and promote sustainability in cities.

During the three days of ENLU, Lasso will have a stand in the exhibition area, where professionals from the sector, municipalities and decision-makers will be able to see up close the equipment and technologies that have been transforming urban cleaning in severa cities across the country.

“We are very proud to once again be participating in ENLU, this year in Porto, a city with which we have strong ties, in the region where we are based. This is a strategic moment to reinforce our commitment to innovation and sustainability in urban waste management. We hope to contribute to a constructive debate and show how technology can be an ally for cleaner and more efficient cities”, highlights Maria João Ferreira, Lasso’s commercial director for the national market.

ENLU is one of the main national forums for sharing good practices and discussing policies and solutions for urban cleaning, bringing together hundreds of participants from all over the country every year. This year’s edition promises to be particularly special for Lasso, which sees this return “home” as an opportunity to consolidate partnerships and present its latest innovations to the sector.

To lauch its presence at GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC and on the Romanian market, Lasso promoted a “Porto d’Honra” at its stand, where several individualities were present, including the Portuguese ambassador to Romania, Paulo Cunha Alves, the director of the Romania-Portugal Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Marina Coanda BunDac, and the representative of AICEP Romania, Hélio Campos.

An informal event for conviviality and knowledge sharing, where guests had the opportunity to discover the innovative Lasso’s underground and semiundergound containers for waste collection and make a Port wine toast to success and new achievements!

With the aim of increasing waste collection capacity and improving the urban image, Moita City Council is reconverting some collection points in the municipality, by replacing existing containers, using for the first time Green Bee underground containers, from Lasso.

At the moment, the conversion covers two recycling banks – also called “ecological islands”. The first has already been installed, on Rua Dr. Alexandre Sequeira, next to Largo do Mercado, where the existing containers were replaced by Green Bee underground containers. The recycling bank consists of seven containers, three for the selective collection of glass, paper and packaging, and four for mixed waste, with a hydraulic system, one of the latter of which will soon be adapted to collect bio-waste.

The second recycling bank will soon be installed in another part of the town, at the intersection of Rua D. Pedro II and Rua dos Descobrimentos, where the new Green Bee underground containers will replace the old surface containers existing there.
