Training action at SUMA on biowaste collection

The Lasso team carried out a training session with SUMA employees, aimed at the correct bio-waste collection operation, in the municipality of Oliveira do Bairro, which is now starting to collect this type of domestic waste. The objective is to support collection operators in making the operation as fast and efficient as possible, with maximum safety.

Oliveira do Bairro City Council recently installed 17 Lasso containers for bio-waste. With a capacity of around 2 m³, these containers are equipped with a completely watertight flexible bag – the MasterbagTM – and with a Redin access control system which, in this case, works through a card that is given to the population, which allows opening the container to deposit bio-waste.

“This is a very particular type of waste, it cannot contain contaminants or any other product, so that its quality is guaranteed to be effectively treated and converted into compost for agriculture. In this sense, the access control system has a decisive role in encouraging the selective disposal of bio-waste correctly”, says Maria João Ferreira, commercial director of Lasso Eco Innovation for the national market.

Through these initiatives, Lasso becomes a partner not only with municipalities, but also with companies providing waste management services. This is the case of SUMA, a partner that has been working together with Lasso for many years to provide its common customers – municipalities – with more effective and sustainable waste management.
