Energias renováveis

Lasso, through its industrial unit Sopsa, S.A., recorded a 75.92% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions generated at its industrial facilities in 2025, following the first year of implementation of its Carbon Neutrality Project.

This result represents a significant milestone in the company’s sustainability strategy and confirms the tangible impact of the measures implemented as part of the decarbonisation of its industrial operations. It is worth noting that the company is a leader in the manufacture and commercialisation of underground and semi-underground containers for the selective collection of waste.

The Carbon Neutrality Project was structured based on an integrated approach, which included:

  • • Strengthening the energy efficiency of production processes
  • • Integration of renewable energy sources
  • • Technological and operational optimisation
  • • Continuous and rigorous monitoring of the carbon footprint

The reduction achieved results from a strategic investment plan focused on industrial modernisation and on the consistent reduction of emissions associated with production activities.

“This result demonstrates that sustainability is not merely a formal commitment, but a strategic priority for Lasso. Reducing emissions by almost 76% in a single year confirms that it is possible to align industrial performance, competitiveness and environmental responsibility,” says Pedro Martins da Costa, CEO of Lasso.

With this progress, Lasso reinforces its position as an organisation committed to the energy transition and to building a more efficient, resilient and sustainable industrial model. The company will continue to consolidate the measures implemented and develop new initiatives that contribute to its carbon neutrality target, creating value for clients, partners and the community.

Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec

Between March 3 and 5, Lasso™ will be present at Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec, one of the leading events dedicated to energy, environment, and sustainable technologies in Eastern Europe. The brand will showcase its product portfolio of semi-underground and underground containers for selective waste colection.

In an increasingly demanding European context in terms of waste management policies and selective collection, Romania currently stands out as a market undergoing growth and transformation in the waste management sector, with a strong focus on infrastructure modernization and the expansion of separate waste collection.

Within this framework, Lasso™ will participate in this specialized trade fair, presenting its containerization solutions for the selective collection of municipal waste, developed to meet the current needs of municipalities, multi-municipal systems, and private operators.

Throughout the event, the company will showcase its entire product range, highlighting robust, functional solutions adaptable to different urban contexts. Among the featured products will be underground waste containers, including the hydraulic underground container system, a distinctive solution that combines operational efficiency, enhancement of public space, and sustainability.

With its participation in Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec, Lasso™ reinforces its commitment to innovation and to the development of solutions aligned with the latest environmental and regulatory requirements.

The company invites all industry professionals to visit its booth and discover firsthand the underground container solutions that are transforming urban waste management.

Contentores semienterrados Lasso

Contenur, our partner in the French market, has completed the installation of 150 Lasso™ semi-underground containers in the territory of the Privas Centre Ardèche Community.

The project, which began a year ago, represents a milestone in the modernization of waste collection in this community, contributing to the improvement of citizens’ quality of life, the optimization of public services, and the promotion of more responsible environmental practices.

The new equipment allows for the selective collection of mixed waste, packaging, glass, and cardboard — the latter through specially adapted containers with a dedicated opening system.

Thanks to their versatility and landscape integration, Lasso semi-underground containers adapt harmoniously to different urban and natural contexts. The Privas Centre Ardèche region, which combines river, mountain, and city areas, exemplifies this integration capacity — ensuring efficient collection without compromising the aesthetics or environmental balance of public spaces.

The project is part of the long-term strategy of the Communauté d’Agglomération Privas Centre Ardèche, a territory strongly committed to ecological challenges and committed to the environmental and energy transition. Over the next three years, the initiative is planned to continue, with the aim of equipping the entire territory with this equipment.

Contenur and Lasso Eco Innovation thus continue to strengthen their role as reference partners in the implementation of efficient and ecological solutions for urban waste management in France.

Contentores enterrados hidráulicos Lasso

The city of Lamego, in the Northern region of Portugal, known for its exceptional historical and cultural heritage, reinforces its commitment to sustainability and the modernization of urban waste collection with the installation of the Lasso™ range of underground hydraulic containers.

With their discreet and elegant design, Lasso™ containers integrate naturally into the monumental landscape of Lamego, a city where the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, the Castle, the Cathedral and its streets full of history stand out.

The Lasso™ hydraulic system, available in versions with one, two, three or four deposition columns, stands out for its technological innovation, safety and functionality. By keeping the collected waste below ground, this system frees up surface space and contributes to cleaner, more organized and pleasant streets, enhancing the urban environment and the quality of life of the population.

With this installation, Lamego reinforces its role as an example of a modern, sustainable city aligned with best environmental practices.

Contentores hidraulicos Lasso

Lasso, an international leader in underground and semi-underground containers, is taking another step toward making waste management smarter and more flexible. In addition to the already well-known hydraulic solutions that require an external power source, it is now introducing a new autonomous system for its Lasso hydraulic containers.

This new feature allows the container to operate completely independently, requiring only a local electrical connection, without the need for a truck with a hydraulic system. This is a particularly attractive solution for those who do not have a contract with an operator who has hydraulic lifting equipment.

Why this solution?

  • Operational autonomy: the container now has a hydraulic unit that allows lifting and lowering with a simple button — perfect when the collection truck does not have a hydraulic system or cannot access the location (e.g., very narrow streets, condominiums, indoor parks, etc).
  • Compatibility and flexibility: it maintains the ability to connect to an external hydraulic source (such as the collection truck) via a quick-connect coupling, allowing you to always use the most convenient source.
  • Simple installation: only a local electrical connection is required to ensure operational autonomy.

In practice, this ensures a range of benefits for customers, including improved collection frequency and reliability in hard-to-reach areas, as well as reduced reliance on dedicated vehicles on site. The advantage also lies in its flexibility, as it maintains the ability to operate with an external source whenever convenient (for example, for scheduled truck collections).

With over 30,000 containers installed worldwide, Lasso remains committed to innovation and sustainability—investing in solutions that facilitate selective collection and promote cleaner cities.
