Contentores semienterrados Lasso

Contenur, our partner in the French market, has completed the installation of 150 Lasso™ semi-underground containers in the territory of the Privas Centre Ardèche Community.

The project, which began a year ago, represents a milestone in the modernization of waste collection in this community, contributing to the improvement of citizens’ quality of life, the optimization of public services, and the promotion of more responsible environmental practices.

The new equipment allows for the selective collection of mixed waste, packaging, glass, and cardboard — the latter through specially adapted containers with a dedicated opening system.

Thanks to their versatility and landscape integration, Lasso semi-underground containers adapt harmoniously to different urban and natural contexts. The Privas Centre Ardèche region, which combines river, mountain, and city areas, exemplifies this integration capacity — ensuring efficient collection without compromising the aesthetics or environmental balance of public spaces.

The project is part of the long-term strategy of the Communauté d’Agglomération Privas Centre Ardèche, a territory strongly committed to ecological challenges and committed to the environmental and energy transition. Over the next three years, the initiative is planned to continue, with the aim of equipping the entire territory with this equipment.

Contenur and Lasso Eco Innovation thus continue to strengthen their role as reference partners in the implementation of efficient and ecological solutions for urban waste management in France.

Contentores enterrados hidráulicos Lasso

The city of Lamego, in the Northern region of Portugal, known for its exceptional historical and cultural heritage, reinforces its commitment to sustainability and the modernization of urban waste collection with the installation of the Lasso™ range of underground hydraulic containers.

With their discreet and elegant design, Lasso™ containers integrate naturally into the monumental landscape of Lamego, a city where the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, the Castle, the Cathedral and its streets full of history stand out.

The Lasso™ hydraulic system, available in versions with one, two, three or four deposition columns, stands out for its technological innovation, safety and functionality. By keeping the collected waste below ground, this system frees up surface space and contributes to cleaner, more organized and pleasant streets, enhancing the urban environment and the quality of life of the population.

With this installation, Lamego reinforces its role as an example of a modern, sustainable city aligned with best environmental practices.

As in previous years, Lasso Eco Innovation will be present at the 19th Waste Forum (Fórum de Resíduos), which takes place on November 17th and 18th at LNEC – National Laboratory of Civil Engineering, in Lisbon.

Lasso Eco Innovation will be present at the next edition of Pollutec, the largest international trade show dedicated to environmental solutions, taking place from October 7th to 10th in Lyon, France.

Among the innovations that the brand will be showcasing is the Lasso SEMI DUO, a semi-underground, two-compartment container designed for the selective collection of two urban waste streams, specifically for mixed waste and biowaste.

Another world premiere will be the new square-shaped floor cover for underground containers, which complements Lasso’s offering for this component and was developed in response to requests from various communities seeking a more functional solution adapted to their needs.

Lasso Eco Innovation’s participation in Pollutec reinforces the brand’s commitment to innovation applied to urban waste management, on a stage that brings together professionals from around the world to discuss the future of sustainability and the circular economy.

Contentores semienterrados Lasso para recolha de biorresíduos no Seixal

The 20 Lasso SEMI PE containers for selective biowaste collection are now in operation in the municipality of Seixal. To this end, Lasso Eco Innovation converted containers previously used for mixed waste.

The initiative implemented by the municipality consists of converting one of them to biowaste in locations where there were two unsorted waste containers, encouraging citizens to properly separate organic waste, which was previously deposited in the mixed waste container.

These containers also include an access control system that ensures more efficient and monitored waste disposal management. This solution represents a strategic step in leveraging existing infrastructure, promoting sustainability and circularity.

According to the Seixal City Council, the public’s response has been very positive, reflecting increased environmental awareness and a desire to contribute to a more effective waste management system. This measure is integrated into the new national directive for biowaste management, to which the municipality is actively adapting to meet national and European environmental targets.

“At Lasso Eco Innovation, we remain committed to providing technological and sustainable solutions that support municipalities in achieving their environmental goals, promoting a more efficient and environmentally friendly circular economy,” says Pedro Martins da Costa, CEO of Lasso Eco Innovation.

When we think about sustainability in cities, it’s easy to picture solar panels, bicycles, electric vehicles, or energy-efficient buildings. But there is an essential element that often goes unnoticed: urban design applied to waste management.

More than just a matter of functionality, urban design has the power to influence behavior, optimize resources, and integrate sustainable solutions harmoniously into the urban fabric. And this is precisely where the innovation developed by Lasso’s R&D department makes all the difference.

Public space is the stage for urban life — an environment where thousands of people cross paths every day. In this context, urban furniture, including waste disposal equipment, should be designed with a holistic view: functionality, accessibility, aesthetics, and sustainability must coexist.

A poorly integrated disposal solution can become a physical obstacle, a visually intrusive element, or even a discouraging factor for citizens to separate waste correctly. On the other hand, well-designed equipment invites usage, reduces visual impact, and improves operational efficiency.

Innovative equipment with smart design

The Green Bee underground container, by Lasso, is a remarkable example of how smart design can address multiple urban challenges at once. With a high storage capacity — ideal for densely populated or high-traffic areas — it stands out by significantly reducing the aesthetic impact on the urban landscape.

Its discreet presence in public spaces is the result of a clean design with balanced proportions. Made from high-quality materials like stainless steel, the Green Bee underground waste container combines exceptional durability with a contemporary, robust appearance. It makes waste disposal easier for users and ensures efficient operation for collection teams.

Another underground container model, the Red Bee, offers a similar approach but stands out by allowing the use of single or double drum.

At Lasso, this principle is evident across the entire line of solutions — not only in underground containers like the Green Bee and Red Bee but also in semi-underground options, such as the SEMI PE and SEMI BT. Designed for seamless integration into urban spaces, Lasso SEMI semi-underground containers adapt to any context thanks to a wide range of finishing — from natural wood, recycled plastic, Lioz stone, river pebbles, anodized aluminum, to custom image finishing — offering versatility and aesthetic appeal for all types of urban environments.

Lasso containers serving environmental education

Contrary to popular belief, design is not just about “beauty” – it is a powerful communication tool. Well-designed equipment sparks curiosity, educates, and creates a positive user experience, helping to internalize and encourage good environmental practices.

At Lasso, urban sustainability is also a matter of visual culture. By offering solutions that are thoughtfully designed to integrate coherently into diverse urban contexts — historic, modern, or natural — the brand helps municipalities promote a more cared-for, valued, and respected public space.

Aligned with this vision, Lasso’s R&D team continues to develop equipment that combines technology, sustainability, and design in the service of cities that are more efficient, cleaner, and healthier.
